"I have always loved a good story. Homes have a significant place in most people's life story. It is where children grow up, joys and sorrows are shared, and it is a sanctuary from the world around. I feel privileged with the opportunity to be a part of building the setting of others' stories.

 

To tell my own story, I have to go back to the late 1940s when my great-grandfather came back from the war and started his own building business. Years later, his son-in-law, my grandfather Anders, started working for him until he eventually started his own building business, Anders Home Builders. Anders built his own business on quality, thoughtful design, and integrity. He would go on to win builder of the year in 1985 and many other awards for his homes and models. He retired in 2004 and sold his business. He continued to stay active in the industry for many years.

 

I started my career in construction at 12 years old working on a crew for my Dad’s hardwood flooring business and continued that through my teens and 20’s. I learned the value of hard work, craftsmanship, and I obtained a passion for authentic materials. In 2016, I married the love of my life, Alexandra. Together in 2017, we started UpKeep, a remodeling and home maintenance business. As our business has grown and we started to take on more high-end remodeling and new construction jobs, it became clear that we needed to update our branding. Anders Custom Homes seemed like a perfect fit.

 

Anders Custom Homes is a tribute to our history and the previous generations of home builders. I feel responsible to keep the legacy and commitment to quality and integrity that Anders built his business on, but I am also excited to build my own legacy and help people build theirs.
